General Scope and Summary

Sage Therapeutics is searching for a creative, resourceful, dynamic, proactive Associate Director, Sales Operations and Planning. Reporting to the VP, Sales and Customer Engagement, in this position, you will be an integral contributor on the Commercial team engaging cross-functionally throughout the organization ensuring smooth operations in support of the Sales team.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Work cross-functionally to develop partnership strategies for commercial programs and capabilities. Work closely with project teams to provide oversight and strategic expertise in the planning, coordination, delivery, and monitoring of all activities for designated projects. Ensure that project objectives of quality, scope, cost, and time are accomplished.

  • Set standards, ensure clear milestone mapping, and establish measures of success for implementing new programs, systems, vendors, or related capabilities.

  • Partner cross-functionally to plan, secure, and mobilize functional level resources required for successful program operations.

  • Establish cross-functional implementation plans and serve as the implementation project leader for new or enhanced sales capabilities. Facilitate program management forums and promote team engagement.

  • Engage and partner with our IT colleagues to ensure new systems and technologies are built and configured to best meet the needs of the Sales organization.

  • Lead the Sales planning, project management, roll out, and implementation related to new omnichannel, digital, and CRM capabilities.

  • Identity new opportunities to leverage existing or emerging capabilities to better engage with our customers.

  • Oversee development, communications, and progress of IC plan and contests for the Sales team.

  • Drive planning for sales leadership team meetings, communications, and strategic initiatives.

Experience, Education and Specialized Knowledge and Skills

Must thrive working in a fast-paced, innovative environment while remaining flexible, proactive, resourceful, and efficient. Must have excellent interpersonal skills, the ability to develop important relationships with key stakeholders, good conflict management skills, and the ability to analyze complex issues to develop relevant and realistic plans, programs, and recommendations. Must have strong analytical skills and an ability to communicate issues in a simple way and to orchestrate plans to resolve issues.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree.

  • 6+ years of experience in operations, business process management, or related experience.

  • 2+ years of sales experience in biotech or pharmaceutical sales.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior experience managing complex operational projects in a busy, high-growth, and fast-paced environment required.

  • Biotech or pharmaceutical experience.

  • 8+ years of relevant experience in project management, cross-functional operational management, planning, or sales.

  • Experience with CRM, omnichannel capabilities, and digital platforms in the biotech or pharmaceutical spaces.

  • Demonstrated ability to partner and tailor messages with all levels of the organization and to influence without authority.

  • Strong analytical, critical thinking, and team facilitation skills.

  • Strong working capability using PowerPoint, Excel, Teams, and Sharepoint.

  • Exceptional relationship building and interpersonal skills.

  • Exceptional project management skills.

  • Strong organization and project management skills with keen attention to detail.

  • Experience working with all levels of management and consulting with key business stakeholders. An ability to influence for greater outcomes.

  • Strong team player that has a customer service approach and is solution-oriented.

  • Possesses strong written and verbal communication skills.

  • Flexibility to adjust priorities in a growing and shifting business without sacrificing quality or commercial objectives.

Benefits and Compensation

The base salary hiring range for this position is $144,188 - $198,258.*

  • The actual salary offered within the range is dependent on a variety of factors including, but not limited to, relevant experience, qualifications, education, skills, and performance.
  • This position is eligible to participate in the Company’s annual bonus plan; the bonus varies based on performance and is subject to the standard terms and conditions of the incentive program.
